Lake Erie

Went to Lake Erie this weekend at Presque Isle in Pennsylvania for the first time. And I should say Friday was a bust! I was never more disgusted about fishing in my life! Good thing my grandson was there to pull me back from the edge! Thanks John! Anyways, we got it figured out from a friend as far as where to go but with a little experimentation and moving around we figured it out! The fishing was a bit slow for us, but what we did catch was hard fighting quality Smallmouth! So next time we go the results will be much different! I have posted a few pictures of the fish and the tackle we used
And John, my grandson I must say has this fishing thing figured out for his age, 13, he is a up and coming phenom!! Watch out KVD!!
Here is the gear we were using.
Diawa 7 ft rod medium action, Quantum TE 40 spinning reel, McCoy 10 lb Flourocarbon line
Rapala xrap blue and gold and blue chartreuse
Reaction innovations sweet beaver black/blue on lucky strike 1/4 oz football head jig. Tails on sweet beaver were marked with chartreuse Spike-it pen, X-raps were treated with Fish Sticks enhancer
Strike King wild eye Shiner, gold color, treated with Fish Sticks enhancer
Biffle bug on swinging head jig. Tail marked with Chartreuse Spike-it pen.
